HE detergent is a specially formulated laundry soap particularly used in high efficiency washing machines. It is very different from conventional detergent products. This soap produces fewer suds and makes rinsing of washed clothing an easier task.
HE washers have been around for a long time. Today, the demands for HE washers and soaps have risen again. These products are known to reduce a significantly huge amount to your water consumption. With the lower sudsing action of HE detergents, no residue clings to the clothing as the washing process progresses from one cycle to the next.
HE detergent is beneficial especially to the rinse cycle. The garment will be washed and rinsed completely in just a few steps. There are no residues left on the clothes after a few rinse. Thus, you will consume lesser volumes of water compared to your normal routine.
Washing with HE detergents is also less time consuming. Instead of devoting your whole day to washing clothes, you can spend more time with your children, your husband, and most importantly for yourself. Since the laundry can be done easier, you can do more loads as you prefer.
Another reason for its popularity is that HE laundry detergents cost lesser than other commercial soaps. Each box or bottle of the detergent can wash the same number of loads as traditional formulas.
With regards to using HE laundry detergents in washing baby clothes, most mothers are anxious about the strong concentration in these soaps harming their baby’s skin. Although there are brands that claim to be safe on baby clothes, most mothers are still uncertain and afraid to risk. Since these products are known to be stronger than the regular soap, it might cause irritation and certain allergies. Most moms use it on washing cloth diapers.
Nevertheless, HE washing detergent is not a good option to use for conventional laundry machines. This principle is similar with a dish washing machine that requires a special dishwashing product. The special detergent for machines would not work if you choose to dish wash by hand. You should own a HE washer.
